How we report, verify, and correct

Last updated: February 2026

Our Editorial Mission

CMZ exists to document crypto history with accuracy, depth, and the irreverent tone it deserves. We believe the crypto industry is best served by honest reporting - not hype, not FUD, but the documented truth with all its absurdity intact.

We are an entertainment-first, accuracy-always publication. Our tone is informal and often humorous, but our facts are serious. Every claim is backed by verifiable sources - on-chain data, court documents, regulatory filings, official statements, and credible reporting from established outlets.

Editorial Standards

Fact-Checking

All articles undergo fact-checking before publication. Financial figures are cross-referenced against on-chain data where possible. Claims about individuals are verified against court records, regulatory actions, and multiple credible sources. When facts are disputed or unverified, we say so explicitly.

Sources

We rely on primary sources wherever possible: blockchain explorers, official court filings, SEC/CFTC/DOJ documents, company statements, and verified on-chain data. Secondary sources include established media outlets (CoinDesk, The Block, Reuters, Bloomberg) and respected researchers.

We do not publish information from a single anonymous source without corroboration. We respect pseudonymity in the crypto community - established pseudonymous identities with reputational skin in the game are treated as credible sources.

Opinion vs. Fact

CMZ content includes both factual reporting and editorial commentary. Our articles clearly distinguish between documented facts and editorial opinion through language, context, and tone. When we call something "the worst rug pull in history," that's based on documented financial data. When we call someone's exit strategy "breathtakingly stupid," that's editorial opinion.

Characterizations

Our sections like "Villains & Heroes" and "Rug Pull Museum" use characterizations informed by legal outcomes, regulatory actions, and documented behavior. When someone has been convicted, we state that. When charges are pending, we note it. When behavior is widely condemned but not legally adjudicated, we present the evidence and let readers decide.

Editorial Independence

CyntriAI Relationship

CMZ is a project from the team behind CyntriAI. In the interest of full transparency:

We follow the standard set by outlets like CoinDesk (owned by Bullish) and Decrypt (backed by ConsenSys) - transparent about corporate relationships while maintaining editorial independence.

Advertising Separation

Sponsored content, if any, will always be clearly labeled. Editorial staff do not participate in advertising decisions. Advertising staff do not participate in editorial decisions. This wall exists to protect our credibility - the only real asset a media company has.

Corrections Policy

We take accuracy seriously and correct errors promptly. Our correction policy:

To report an error, email editor@cryptomediazone.com or use our Contact form. Please include the article URL and specific error with supporting evidence.

Use of AI

CMZ may use artificial intelligence tools in the content creation process - for research assistance, data analysis, initial drafting, and fact-checking support. All AI-assisted content is reviewed, edited, and verified by human editors before publication.

AI-generated images, if used, are labeled as such. We believe in transparency about our tools while maintaining high editorial standards regardless of the technology used.
