Tiantian 'TT' Kullander: Gone at 30

Amber Group co-founder who died unexpectedly in his sleep at age 30, with no cause of death ever revealed.

Tiantian Kullander, known as TT, was the co-founder of Amber Group, a Hong Kong-based crypto finance firm valued at $3 billion. On November 23, 2022, he died "unexpectedly in his sleep." He was 30 years old.

No cause of death was ever publicly disclosed. Amber Group issued a brief statement expressing grief and confirming his passing. The company continued operations. TT's wife and infant son were left behind.

His death came during one of the darkest periods in crypto history - weeks after the FTX collapse, and around the same time as several other crypto industry deaths. The timing fueled speculation, but no evidence of foul play or any connection to FTX emerged.

TT was widely respected in Asian crypto circles. He had worked at Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley before co-founding Amber Group in 2017. Colleagues described him as hardworking to an extreme degree - routinely working through the night in an industry that never closes.

The refusal to disclose a cause of death left the community to speculate. Overwork, stress, underlying health conditions - all were discussed, none were confirmed. What is known is that a 30-year-old father died in his sleep during the most stressful period the crypto industry had ever experienced.
